Shelter Caretaker

The Shelter Caretaker looks after the Recruit's Shelter, the small island where every new hero starts. He runs the three-chapter tutorial: clear the rats from the cave, catch and clean fish at the pier, then mine, smelt and forge your first set of gear. Finishing his last chapter opens the ferry to The Crossing.

Arrival at the Shelter

Take the sword from its rack and equip it, go down into the cave and defeat 3 Shelter Rats, then collect your pay from the Caretaker.

Objectives

Step by step (4)
  1. Talk to the Shelter Caretaker and accept the job.
  2. Take the Recruit's Sword from the rack beside him and equip it (Backpack item Equip).
  3. Go down into the cave (west, inside the stone fence) and defeat 3 Shelter Rats.
  4. Return to the Caretaker for the Recruit's Shield and equip it.

A Encomenda (The Errand)

Catch 3 common fish at the pier, clean them on the drying rack and bring 3 Fish Fillets to the Caretaker.

Requirements: Finish Arrival at the Shelter

Objectives

Step by step (5)
  1. Accept the Caretaker’s new request.
  2. Take the Wooden Rod and 10 Worms from the rack at the pier entrance.
  3. Catch 3 common fish (Silver Minnow, Green Perch or Red Trout). While this errand is open, rare catches turn into a common fish so luck never slows you down.
  4. Clean the fish on the drying rack next to the rod rack: each fish becomes a Fish Fillet.
  5. Deliver 3 Fish Fillets to the Caretaker and equip the Recruit's Boots.

O Ferreiro (The Smith)

Mine 2 Silver Ore, 2 Gold Nuggets and 2 Cave Crystals, smelt them into ingots, forge a helmet, an armor and an amulet, wear them and show the Caretaker.

Requirements: Finish A Encomenda (The Errand)

Objectives

Step by step (5)
  1. Accept and receive the Pickaxe.
  2. In the cave, click the silver, gold and crystal veins: 2 of each.
  3. In the forge, smelt each ore at the furnace (Silver Ingot, Gold Ingot, Crystal Ingot).
  4. At the anvil, forge the Recruit's Helmet (2 Silver Ingots), Recruit's Armor (2 Gold Ingots) and Silver Amulet (2 Crystal Ingots).
  5. Wear all three, show the Caretaker and equip the Recruit's Legs.

  • The ferryman at the south pier now sails to The Crossing (Living Woods Island)
